PRE-REQUISITES FOR CERTIFICATIONS & ENDORSEMENTS
Monitor Level 1 (M1):
- Individuals must be at least 18 years of age; 
- The ability to correctly size and fit personal safety system of participants; 
- The ability to deliver all required instruction to participants; 
- The ability to perform a practical assessment of participant's knowledge and skills of their equipment prior to their entrance onto any element or course; 
- The ability to perform routine visual inspections of aerial ropes course elements, structures, grounds and equipment; 
- The ability to provide verbal assists. - This certification is Valid for a 1yr period and requires Monitors to pass an annual ‘refresher’ course within 12 mo. of their certificate’s expiration date 
Monitor Level 2 (M2):
- Individuals must be at least 18 years of age; 
- The ability to perform all of the duties outlined for an M1; 
- The ability to perform Physical Assists; 
- The ability to perform Standard Assists; 
- Confident at heights (able to traverse the elements of aerial courses without difficulty). - This certification is Valid for a 1yr period and requires Monitors to pass an annual ‘refresher’ course within 12 mo. of their certificate’s expiration date 
PRE-REQUISITES FOR ADVANCED CERTIFICATIONS
Monitor Trainer (MT):
- Individuals must be at least 21 years of age; 
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid; 
- Current certification as a M2 with Tandem credential (or equivalent High Ropes Course Experience); 
- Minimum of 2 seasons and 800 hours of professional experience as a certified M2 (or equivalent High Ropes Course experience); 
- The ability to train and assess others in categories M1 - M2; 
- Knowledge of the ANSI/ACCT Challenge Courses & Canopy / Zip Line Standards 
- Must pass Written & Practical Exams. - This certification is Valid for a 2 yr period and requires Trainers to pass a ‘refresher’ course within 12 mo. of their certificate’s expiration date 
Monitor Trainer (MT) Refresher:
- Current certification as a Monitor Trainer (MT); 
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid; 
- Submission of updated portfolio showing recent involvement in the industry (during preceeding 2 yr period); 
- Completion of a 1 day Refresher Course; 
- Must pass Written & Practical Exams. 
This certification is Valid for a 2 yr period and requires Trainers to pass a ‘refresher’ course within 12 mo. of their certificate’s expiration date
Monitor Master Trainer (MMT):
- Must be at least 24 years of age; 
- Current Certification in CPR and First Aid; 
- Current certification as a MT; 
- Minimum of 3 seasons and 1200 hours professional experience as a certified MT (or equivalent High Ropes Course experience); 
- The ability to train and assess others in categories M1 - MT; 
- Previous education in experiential learning; 
- Must have at least 8 hours of continuing education annually to maintain designation; 
- Must be SPRAT Level 1 Technician or equivalent certification; 
- Must have minimum ACCT Inspector Level 1 or equivalent certification.
